Finding Inspiration“They’re the Vogue of online antique and collectibles, and we all love Vogue.” — @mossyhouse_rehomesWhen secondhand furniture retailer Chairish announced they’ve started shipping to Canada a couple of weeks ago (full story below), I asked our Instagram followers if they plan to shop the platform or use it as a reference guide. Response was swift (you can see the exchange here), with most saying the prices on the platform are out of reach for many people. User @mossyhouse_rehomes likened the Chairish brand to Vogue, and I loved that comparison. For most of us, Vogue isn’t for actually buying clothes. We read it to get ideas and inspiration, to stay informed about trends and news, to access expert opinion, to refer back to when we need trustworthy information. As it happens, those are also the kinds of things going on inside the Vintage Sellers Community, which launched Oct. 5. Our founding members are already offering each other a ton of support, motivation, encouragement and knowledge-sharing, too. I missed last month’s issue of this newsletter as I onboarded our first 50 members following a fantastic launch event. If you’re curious for more info on what we’re up to inside, scroll down to see “Seller News.” Otherwise, we are back to regular programming here now, and have a number of new stories coming to you before the end of the year. Until the next issue, you can follow us on Instagram, Facebook and now LinkedIn. New to this newsletter? Learn more about us (me) here. Yours in community, Kristina
